This FAQ relates to the downloadable Easy Internet WYSIWYG Web Builder available from http://www.easyinternetsolutions.co.uk/wsb

This FAQ is aimed at customers hosted on a Easy Internet Solutions cPanel based web server such as those customers hosted by FreeVirtualServers.com

To add a "hit counter" to your Web site builder website, please follow these steps. Please remember that you do have access to "Web Stats" within the cPanel control panel which will provide more in-depth details than any hit counter.

  • First of all, we need to setup a hit counter within your cPanel control panel:
    1. Login to your cPanel control panel at http://www.example.com/cpanel (where example.com is your domain name) or via http://www.easyinternetsolutions.co.uk/conpanel/login

    2. Click on the "CGI Center" icon and then click on "Counter"

    3. Select "Counter" (out of Counter, Clock or Date)

    4. As you are using the "Counter", please ignore the "TimeZone", "TimeFormat", "DateFormat" fields.

    5. Select the "Frame thickness", Frame Color, Max Digits and Style you wish to use: feel free to use the "Preview" buttons to make a counter you like

    6. Give the counter a name (we would suggest something like your username followed by a digit)

    7. Click "Make HTML". This will generate some HTML code. Select it all (by clicking at the start with the left mouse button, holding down the mouse button and then "dragging" until the end of the text) and then "copy" the text to the clipboard (by right clicking and selecting "Copy")>

  • Now to add the HTML code to the website builder page:
    1. Load the Website builder and open your web page where you want to add the counter

    2. Click on the "HTML button" on the left hand menu and move it to the area on your page where you want the hit counter to appear.

    3. Double click on the box and then right click and select "Paste" to paste the HTML code

    4. Click "OK"

    5. Save and then publish your page as per normal.
